Finding Relief for Back Pain and Sore Muscles
In this blog post, I’m going to talk about making a Relief Blend for lower back pain and sore muscle relief. Did you strain a back muscle lifting heavy objects? Sprained an ankle? Forget to stretch before your workout? Slept on an arm or leg funny and wrong? Yep. It happened to the best of us when we at least expect it. Other than a sprained ankle, the rest had happened to me especially the last one. I slept on my left shoulder wrong, the same one that I broke my clavicle and collarbone over twenty years ago in a bicycle accident, on Tuesday morning. It was painful and sore. If it was my other arm, I would’ve been okay. Other than icing it and aspirin, I turned to my essential oils to ease the pain for relief since I’m still feeling a bit of the pain, two days later. I normally experience the pain during flare-ups especially when there’s a change of weather like in the summer and fall seasons.

If you want instant relief to soothe the pain, give Rocky Mountain Oils’s Pain Ease Blend from the Relief Collection. It’s made from Wintergreen, Lemongrass and Peppermint essential oils to create the warm citrus top note and a cool minty middle note. Just add it to the carrier oil of your choice and use it to massage it after a tough workout.
You can make your own Relief Blend to help with back pain and sore muscle relief with the four top essential oils from your starter kit. Peppermint has a cooling effect on sore, achy muscles and has antispasmodic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties to help with pain, tension, and swelling. Lavender oil will help with calm and relaxation to relief pain and inflammation. Eucalyptus oil has a cooling effect on muscles that reduces pain and inflammation too. Rosemary oil has the noted ability to ease pain and inflammation as well. These oils pulls double duty for easing muscle pain or swelling, whether used alone or combined in a blend. Just apply to your hot/cold compress or roll it on the affected area.
